I had world class treatment in what I consider a world class hospital. Dr Welsh particularly spent a long time explaining what was going to happen to me and I was impressed with him and his team and couldn't have been in better hands. I felt completely confident as I knew exactly what to expect from my treatment. The greatest fear we all have is that of the unknown and everyone went to extraordinary lengths to ensure I came to my treatment from a base of knowledge and understanding.
God bless the Royal Marsden and all who reign therein!
Everyone I met was so kind and caring and instantly made me feel at ease. From the receptionists to the doctor and radiographers it turned a potentially stressful time into something much easier. Thank you all.
My experience with radiotherapy over 15 days was very positive. I was treated with utmost respect and all did everything in their power to fit in with my requests to fit round a new job. I am very grateful. The radiographers were always concerned how I was and that I was comfortable.
The care was fantastic there is nothing in my mind that could be improved fantastic team work from day one .
Some questions are irrelevant as being a day outpatient they don't apply. For example, meals were not required however it did not provide an option that states n/a.
Also, the first question I find intriguing. I would't have thought anyone would recommend the service as it is the result of being diagnosed with an illness that requires treatment. If you are seeking feedback on whether you would recommend The Royal Marsden, Chelsea specifically, or another location for that matter, then I believe the question can be much better worded to elicit an appropriate response if this is the intention.
Thanks
At all times I was aware I felt expertly looked after. The staff were all so caring and knowledgeable which helped to keep me feeling calm.
Everyone kept me updated with my care and when my blood pressure dropped dramatically so many staff had appeared by the time I came round that I felt completely reassured.
In the star rating. Didi not answer meals as not applicable.
This is my second time with a cancer problem at Royal Marsden. The doctors and staff are so kind and caring. They made me feel I was in save, in caring hands. Always nice and greeted with a smile.
The nurses were kind and caring, as always. My issue was with the reception staff. On arrival we were questioned as to whether we had received a phone call or not. I said I had called and confirmed the appointment only a few days prior. I was then asked to produced the appointment letter, which I handed over and was told to take a seat and wait. I got the impression that the appointment was actually cancelled but no one had called us. It's a long journey for my elderly mum so the thought of having traveled for no reason was frustrating. Eventually we were told that my mum would be seen as we had traveled a long way. We were made to feel like they were doing us a favor. Given the current COVID situation, visiting a hospital is the last thing we want to do. We did appreciate that we were not turned away but the reception staff need to work on their communication skills and drop the high handed manner.
Cannot fault care given
Very good all round best hospital I have been in. All the time looking at the person's needs.
